Meet the East End Neuropsych Team
Eric Spronz, MSN, PMHNP-BC, CASAC.
Medical Director
Eric Spronz, RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC, CASAC, has been in the medical field for over 20 years from group home administration to clinical director. Mr. Spronz's goal is to make every day the best day that it can be for your loved one. Eric works hand in hand with each patient to meet their individual goals and help them achieve their optimal mental health. Eric worked with Dr. Alan Steinberg for 8 years prior to taking over the practice in 2021.
Eric developed his love for the Geriatric population through caring for his own grandmother, affectionately named Nana. He proudly displays a picture of Nana in front of the Taj Mahal in India where she traveled to in her 80's. Eric sees all of his patients as his Nana, and works tirelessly to give each one of his patients the tender care that they deserve, just like he would his own Nana.
As a patient, you will never feel rushed, and can always count on receiving the support that you need. Since Eric's philosophy is that every patient deserves his undivided attention, his practice never "double books" or "stacks patients" in exam rooms. Each patient is seen based on appointment time and time of arrival.
When not in the office Eric is an officer in the Port Jefferson Fire Department and has been in the Fire and EMS service since 1999. He lives with his wife Sara and son Zev in the Village of Port Jefferson. You will frequently see him and the family around town with the office dogs, Roro and Emily.
Eric oversees all training at East End Neuropsych, under Eric’s leadership, East End Neuropsych serves as a primary training site psychiatrists, PA’s and nurse practitioners in training. Here they learn about the evaluation and care of patients with dementia, delirium and many other conditions commonly seen at our practice.

RoRo & Emily
We are the office therapy dogs, we love to greet everyone who comes in. We enjoy being pet but we ask that you don’t try to feed us or pick us up. We enjoy running around the office and will even try to sit on your lap sometimes. If you are afraid of us, just let someone at the desk know in advance and we will take our break time during your visit. Sometimes we have accidents in the office, if you see it can you let the office staff know .
We are both full grown mixed breed rescue dogs. When we are not in the office, we live with Eric’s family and enjoy playing with each other and Zev, Eric’s son.

A letter from Dr. Steinberg
Dear Patients and Caregivers,
After 33 years of practicing Geriatric Psychiatry, I have decided to retire on October 31, 2021.
You may require ongoing psychiatric/medical care and attention, and you must not delay in finding another provider to take care of you. I am happy to announce that Eric Spronz, NP, who was trained by me and as you may know has worked with me for many years, will be taking over the practice. The other clinicians and the staff will be remaining at the same location as well. I am confident that you will be pleased with the care that they provide. The phone number and location will remain unchanged, and they will continue to accept Medicare. If you choose to be cared for by another practice, please send us a written request for transfer of records including the name, address and fax number of the provider and we will forward the records.
If you have not already transitioned to one of my teammates, you may want to arrange a final appointment with me to discuss your care needs and transfer options. If you would like to do so, please call by August 15.
Thank you for the privilege of being a part of your health care. I have enjoyed this opportunity and wish you the very best of good health in the future.
With warm regards,
Alan L. Steinberg, MD
To those who inspired the clinical team at East End Neuropsych and to whom we credit the love of this work .
